BACKGROUND

HOPE worldwide Kenya is a faith-based Non Governmental Organization registered in 1999. The official launch of Programs was in February 2003 by the then U.S. ambassador to Kenya, His Excellency Johnnie Carson, and Joe Aketch, His Worship the mayor of Nairobi City at the time, in Mukuru slums.

The work of HWWK focuses on hard-to-reach and most-at-risk populations, orphaned and vulnerable children, youth, poor communities and the general public to improve their quality of life through responsive and innovative health programming, service delivery and capacity building in Kenya and Eastern Africa.

We are affiliated with HOPE worldwide Ltd, headquartered in Philadelphia, USA, a faith-based relief and development organization serving more than 2 million needy peopleannually on all six continents.

HWW enjoys special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and has been awarded a 4-Star (Exceptional) rating for six consecutive years by Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator, as an organization that “exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its cause.” This rating and consistency has only been awarded to 30 of the 500 charities they rate.

Through key partnerships in HWWK’s local, national and international networks, we are continuously striving to improve the quality of our services and expand the range of our interventions.
HWWK partners with the National Coordinating Agency for Population and Development (NCAPD) in areas focusing on Gender, Reproductive Health which targets the youth, sex workers and orphans. Public Private Partnerships have also been established with Kenyan Government agencies, other non-governmental organizations, corporate firms, religious institutions, and local and international donor agencies.
